Is it possible to keep employers form seeing my felony?

Answered by attorney Seth David Schraier
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Office of Seth D. Schraier, P.C.
Employers won't necessarily see your felony unless they ask you in the job application whether you've been convicted of a crime over the last 10 years. Usually if it was beyond 10 years it's not as much of an issue. Some employers will not even inquire into your criminal history. You are required, however, to tell the truth on the application. In terms of being able to obtain a firearm, if you were convicted of possession of a dangerous weapon, New York State law prohibits you from obtaining a firearm again. So far this law still stands, and has not been overturned for being unconstitutional.

How do I nullify my contract (license) with the DMV?

Criminal Law lawyer at R. Jason de Groot, P.A.
Consult with a local attorney about this. That case is not a Florida case, and the courts in Florida consider a license to be a privilege, not a right.

Do I have the right to plead the fifth?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
You can only plead the fifth to prevent self incrimination. But then the DAs could offer you immunity on that charge and compel you to testify.
