How can I get money back from a lawyer?

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
Check the terms of the contracct you signed. If not earned under the terms of that document he should return a portion of it. Be aware that there is a limit on the time within which you can claim it, the most is four years. You also can complain to the fee disputes committee of the Texas Bar Association. Look it up on the internet. Be sure tht you ask for the refund in writing to the attorney and see what he says. Usually the fee is non-refundable if the attorney does work on the case but there are exceptions.

What can I do if the seller is keeping the car title from me?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
It's not legal, but unfortunately it's a civil matter. But you can call the police and report it and file a report. Let them know and see if they can scare him straight. Also, go over there and demand the title.

What punishments will my friend face for a DUI?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Jared Altman (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Office of Jared Altman
You have asked an awful lot for an email response, but I'll give you an overview. By DUI I'm going to assume that you mean a plain vanilla DWI. For a plain vanilla DWI the penalties are a fine up to $1,000.00, a $460.00 surcharge, a one year Conditional Discharge, license revoked for six months and installation of an alcohol sensing ignition interlock usually for one year. Also attendance may be required at a Mothers Against Drunk Driving Victim Impact Panel ($50.00) and one must usually complete the DMV Drinking Driving Program ($300.00). There is also a $750.00 DMV Driver Safety Assessment and there are costs for all medical evaluation and treatment that may be required.
