What is the best way going about minor in consumption in court and is there any chance of fighting it?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
Retain a criminal defense attorney in the area that handles MIP or minor in possession cases. They will have to review the police report and all evidence to see if any argument can be made to dismiss the case. If not, a good attorney may be able to get you into the diversion program which upon successful completion, the matter will not appear on your public record.

How can I drop a protection order?

Only the DA or the judge can dismiss the protection order. You may want to appear in court on January 7th and see if the judge will hear you and grant your request. Absent that, you simply have to let the legal system run its course.
