Can I own a gun in TX if I've been arrested back in '09, and have been charged for Assault Family violation (ex-gf)?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
You can do the petition for nondisclosure depending on what county it is in. And nothing prohibits you from owning a gun from what you have told me.

Will my case be dismissed if the people that accused me don't appear in court?

Answered by attorney Lucio Antonio Montes (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Montes Law Firm
If you have set it for trial and they do not show up to testify, it will more than likely be dismissed. You should discuss this with possibility with your defense attorney to determine whether the State can make its case with or without the complaining witness. Good luck.

What is the charge for first degree manufacturing with intent to deliver meth?

Answered by attorney Jason William Savela
Criminal Law lawyer at The Savela Law Firm, P.C.
This is probably an F3 with a range of 4-12 doc w 5 years of parole. Many judges are looking at prison on a first felony conviction like this. If you have any prior drug cases or prior felonies, you likely will get prison if convicted. You need a lawyer, public defender or private lawyer. As I said before, if you did not know the stuff was in car, then you are not guilty. The DA has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you knew the stuff was in the car. Do not talk with police or prosecution, they are just trying to get evidence to put you in jail. Just say, "I want a lawyer" and nothing else.
