Will my son go to jail for stealing a vehicle?

Answered by attorney Craig Orent
Criminal Law lawyer at Orent Law Offices, PLC
There is no way for me to give you an intelligent, accurate answer without knowing details about the case and your son. Clearly though prison is a possibility. You or your son should seek counsel to assist you directly and personally as opposed to online. The charges are serious and despite his admission etc., an attorney should review the case, assess, and then properly advise your son of his options.

Will I be arrested for not finishing my DUI classes sooner?

Answered by attorney Philip Daniel Hache
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Phil Hache
It is likely that the court has determined that you have violated the terms of your probation. This matter should be handled as soon as possible. If you don't already have one, I recommend that you contact an attorney to assist in trying to get your probation reinstated. Contact me if you would like to discuss further. Thanks for serving our country!

What will show up on my background check if I was caught shoplifting at my previous employer?

Answered by attorney Ernest Lee
Criminal Law lawyer at Lee Law Group DUI Criminal Attorneys
In this instance, nothing should show up on a criminal background check because you were never charged with, let alone convicted of, a criminal offense. Based on the facts you provide, it sounds like the affair ended up being a civil matter for which you satisfied with the $500.00 payment. In the future contact an attorney who could have at least made sure that you signed a document stating that you admit to nothing, and that you get certain things "in lieu", (in exchange), for the $500.00 payment, such as no charges being filed, confidentiality, non-disparagement, etc. An example of how this could help is if you had gotten a confidentiality and non-disparagement agreement in lieu of your payment, you probably could have added your prior employer to your resume in comfort because they would have promised to keep the shoplifting matter confidential and not talk disparagingly (in a way that could harm), you.
