What recourse do we have for an indictment that is wrong?

Answered by attorney William R. Pelger
Criminal Law lawyer at Pelger Law
Don't call me. I am in PA and cannot help you. Ask a TX lawyer. When you deal with a court appointed lawyer who won't return callls, my advice is always the same. Be patient and polite but be persistent. Only if this fails do you take the more drastic step of requesting a new lawyer from the court. I couldnt tell you if meth or heroin carries more of a sentence, but the prosecution can always amend their charges up to the date of trial in most states-again ask a local TX lawyer.

Is it possible to keep employers form seeing my felony?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Unless you get it expunged or sealed then it is public record. And you can only do those if you were found not guilty or case was dismissed or no billed. Or if you successfully completed deferred adjudication probation.

Should I turn myself in to the police?

Answered by attorney Michael Thomas Lynch (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Michael T. Lynch
Please do not speak to the Police. You have no duty to prosecute yourself. If you insist upon exposing yourself do so only with your attorney present at all times. Most likely the Police do not have the evidence necessary to convict you, that is why they want to speak with you. Do not give them the chance. If you do, you most likely will be convicted and sent to rehab. If your experiments with drugs is complete and you are ready to live a drug free life, skip the middleman and enter rehab on your own.
