What will happen 17 years old that has fourth offense of underage possession of alcohol?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Eric S Lumberg (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Eugene Lumberg and Eric S. Lumberg
A 17 year old with 4 alcohol charges will probably have some issues with the Judge. While jail is not a certainty, almost every Judge would look at this situation as serious and in need of some intervention. It is very likely that a sentence would include intensive therapy and significant testing. Before you go to Court, you should consult with an attorney to formulate a plan.

Can pleading guilty to a drug charge prevent me from getting a job?

Answered by attorney Harley Ives Gutin
Criminal Law lawyer at Gutin Wolverton
Just being arrested and having the charges dropped can be problematic when applying for a job. In that case you would want the arrest and if possible the conviction or withholding of the adjudication of guilt sealed or expunged. Can only do this once in a lifetime on only one case. If you enter a plea to any drug charge you will have a criminal record and it could prevent you from military jobs, security clearance and civilian work. You can also have your driver's license suspended by DMV. You should talk to a lawyer prior to go to court so your fully informed.

My son was offered a plea deal of 5 years probation AND 2 years house arrest. Is this even fair when he has not had a trial?? No guilty OR Not guilty?

Gary Kollin
Answered by attorney Gary Kollin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Gary Kollin, P.A.
The person who should be consulted is his lawyer who will communicate with you if he has your son's permission   He has no obligation to accept it and he can go to trial.
