In FL if you do not live in the state does the statute of limitation stay tolled forever?

Answered by attorney Eric J Trabin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Trabin Law Firm, P.L.
No the statute of limitations does not get tolled forever simply for being out of the state. Of course there are some crimes with no limitation. Don't assume the case will automatically go away, hire a lawyer!

How do I find a criminal defense attorneyto help with a felony theft case?

Answered by attorney Howard W Collins (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Howard W. Collins
It is hard to have your cake and eat it too. You want the time and attention of a paid lawyer but you do not have the funds to pay. You are going to have to make a choice; get the money together or go with the public defender. In some counties there are modest means programs to hire private lawyers are reduced rates. Call the State Bar for a referral.

Can a bench warrant be dismissed?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
No it cannot be dismissed on its own. You need to hire an attorney and untangle this web. The lawyer will go to Court, speak with Judge and see what the warrant is for, why and how much. Depends on how serious the case is and what county you are in.
