I have an old burglary charge that I was not convicted or went to court on, if you look it up it says disposed and conversion event

Richard Keith Oliver
Answered by attorney Richard Keith Oliver (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at The Law Office of Rick Oliver
If you were never brought to court on the case it is likely it was dismissed due to a lack of probable cause. One would need more information in order to determine that for sure. However, if it's true that the case was dismissed, you would be eligible to have that old charge expunged. Once successfully expunged, you would be able to deny you were ever arrested for the case at all, and anyone running your background would not be able to see a record of it, either.

Can I get my family violence record expunged?

Cynthia Russell Henley
Answered by attorney Cynthia Russell Henley (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Cynthia Henley
Unfortunately, you can on expunge cases that resulted in a finding of not guilty or were dismissed. Moreover, with a family violence case, even if you get a deferred you cannot get the record sealed. (Many cases which result in deferred adjudication probation are subject to being sealed from public view.) The assault family violence case will remain on your record. (And, if you get charged with assault family violence against another person in the future - even a different person - it is automatically a felony.)

Will I be charged with felony and face prison time if after using my mom's card without her permission?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Not a felony, but possibly a misdemeanor. All you mom has to do is call the police and they will accept charges. So best to get her all paid off and have proof you paid her off.
