Do i have to go to court from out of town

we may be able to address the arrest warrant and ticket with an affidavit depending upon the type of traffic violation.  if the traffic violation is serious, you must appear. you may also have to appear if there was an issue with the officer. you will have to pay the outstanding bail amount, if any, and pay the contempt charge for your failure to appear. the contempt fines are significant-usually $500 to $1000.  we just did a case with six outstanding warrants for one person. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235

Can a police still ask you some questions after asking for a attorney?

Answered by attorney Matthew G McHenry
Criminal Law lawyer at Levine & McHenry LLC
If you unequivocally invoked your right to an attorney, the officers should stop interrogating you immediately. If they do not, there are strong grounds to suppress your statements so they cannot be used against you.

How do I get a private attorney for someone who has already been assigned a public defender?

Answered by attorney Jonathan Dichter

You can simply hire an attorney who will take the place of the public defender - just let the private attorney do it for you.
