Do we have to attend a juvenile intake?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
Your juvenile is in trouble and has been released to your custody. If you fail to meet with the officer, then your juvenile will be taken into custody, because you are not fulfilling your part of the bond conditions. Whether or not you should have an attorney is not important, because you do not intend to retain an attorney. When the juvenile first got in trouble you should have retained an attorney. When you first learned that the police were involved, you should have retained an attorney. I suspect there is no money. So, please do not talk about attorneys now.

A search warrant was served and marijuana plants were found, will they issue an arrets warrant?

Anthony O. Van Johnson
Answered by attorney Anthony O. Van Johnson (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Anthony Overton Van Johnson Associates, P.C.
You indicated that you were "in the process" of moving into a residence. You did not indicate what caused the Sheriff's department to obtain a search warrant of your residence. Was it due to suspected activity of the previous resident, or were you under suspicion? Also, you did not indicate whether anyone else resided in the residence at the time of the search. Additionally, it would have been good to know whether your name was on the lease. Based on your statement that marijuana was located inside the residence, if law enforcement can determine who resided in the residence, they can simply obtain an arrest warrant for the arrest of the occupant(s). An arrest warrant can be obtained in a matter of hours. And if an arrest warrant is issued, the suspect usually will be notified of the arrest warrant at the time law enforcement takes him/her into custody.

If I suspect drugs are being used in my home and I get cops to come and search my home for drugs will I lose my home?

Cynthia Russell Henley
Answered by attorney Cynthia Russell Henley (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Cynthia Henley
You will not lose your home if you are not allowing drug dealing / use to go on in your home. If you were allowing your home to be used as a place where drugs were dealt, then you could have an issue.
