Do I need to get myself a defense lawyer?

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
There is no crime. The general rule is that you should not talk to the police without consulting with a lawyer. You may be subjet to questions that you should not answer. Your attorney can, on your behalf, present your case without you being at risk.

What recourse do we have for an indictment that is wrong?

Answered by attorney William R. Pelger
Criminal Law lawyer at Pelger Law
Don't call me. I am in PA and cannot help you. Ask a TX lawyer. When you deal with a court appointed lawyer who won't return callls, my advice is always the same. Be patient and polite but be persistent. Only if this fails do you take the more drastic step of requesting a new lawyer from the court. I couldnt tell you if meth or heroin carries more of a sentence, but the prosecution can always amend their charges up to the date of trial in most states-again ask a local TX lawyer.

What punishments will my friend face for a DUI?

Answered by attorney Kenneth Marlon Hallum (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Office of Kenneth M. Hallum
Depending on the county, 2 days jail or alternative like community service, $2000-$2500 fines, 3-4 years probation, and a DUI class. Some counties require AA or other 12-step programs.
