Do I need to hire an attorney for jail time to count towards my sentence?

Cynthia Russell Henley

Unclear what you are asking. If you got a jail sentence, then you will serve your sentence getting 2 for 1 (or possibly 3 for 1 credit). If you are on probation and want off, you need to hire a lawyer. If you owe fees, then turn yourself in. In Harris County they give $100 credit for each day served.

Can you be charged for this?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Just be quiet from now on. Do not talk to anymore police or EMTs or anyone for that matter. If you get arrested, hire an attorney. LSD is a felony with seirous consequences. But 3 weeks is a long time to not file charges, so you make have gotten REAL lucky.

Is there anything we can do if she drops charges?

The DA decides whether to pursue the charges not your grandma. So you can try and contact the court that your cousin lands in and tell them not to.
