I unknowingly bought a stolen tv, will the police take the tv from me or would I get in trouble?

Answered by attorney Robert Jason De Groot (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at R. Jason de Groot, P.A.
Dealing in stolen property is a 2nd degree felony with up to a 15 year sentence to prison. You have admitted to committing a crime on the internet and it is not wise to do so. Even if you give the tv back, you can still be prosecuted for this crime. The friend who sold the tv to you is not really a friend at all.

My ex boyfriend is claiming that I will be going to jail over something that happened 6 months ago, what should I do and can you me?

Criminal Law lawyer at The Law Offices of Charles D. Scott PLLC
I doubt that the police are going to be interested in looking at something that happened 6 months ago. In addition if your ex recorded you without your knowledge and consent then he may have a legal problem, because it is not legal to record you in Florida with your knowledge and consent. As for what you should do, stop all communication with your ex, and do not speak with law enforcement without a lawyer. You have no obligation to speak to police, only to give your identification.
