What rights do I have against police harassment?

The short answer is yes. From a practical standpoint is it not always possible to do anything about police harassment. I would suggest getting an attorney to send a letter on your son's behalf to the police department to put them on notice that further ab use of your son's civil rights will not be tolerated. If you document the harassment well, at some point you may have enough for a lawsuit.

Can loss prevention give info to a minor about a personal/private matter?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
Shoplifting is NOT private information. You will be in court, where all of the public can view your proceedings, including your children. Loss prevention would tell your son, because it is ridiculously funny. Your son is following in your footsteps. He is doing exactly what you do. So, you should be embarrassed. You think you can steal from Walmart, and then Walmart has some obligation to make sure that you are not embarrassed in front of your family. Please, get real.
