Can I carry a gun if I am on probation for a DUI misdemeanor charge?

Answered by attorney Steven Jed Alpers (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Steven J. Alpers, A Professional Corporation
A misdemeanor for dui does not ban gun ownership or possession unless the gun was mentioned in the probation conditions. If a gun was located in your car when you were stopped for dui , the court may have said no gun possession. Otherwise it is unlikely to be a problem. Of course you are still covered by all of the gun laws, including not haveing a gun in your car except for in a locked trunk.

Am I criminally liable for the fraud committed by another person?

Jared Clayton Austin
Answered by attorney Jared Clayton Austin (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Austin Legal Services, PLC
You should not be held responsible for purchases you did not authorize or participate in. They may just want to talk with you regarding the case as being a witness. You can always bring a lawyer or another adult with you to talk with the police if it makes you feel better. Keep in mind you don't have to talk to the police. But unless you've somehow been involved in something wrong, they probably just want to talk to see what you can tell them.

Is it correct for them to charge my mother for a crime she did not commit although it is her responsibility?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
She was supposed to make a deposit, and the money disappeared. So, she is responsible. I would love to hear why she did not make the deposit herself, when the person did not arrive. It is correct that she be charged.
