Do I qualify for an expungement of record in Michigan?

default-avatar
Answered by attorney Eric S Lumberg (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Offices of Eugene Lumberg and Eric S. Lumberg
Michigan law allows a person to file a petition to expunge one criminal offense off of their record. The most important requirement is that there are no other convictions. Therefore, you would not qualify. However, there may be something else that can be done. If you tried to set aside your second conviction, that would leave you with just the one that could be expunged. Something to think about and discuss further.

If you believe you're being harassed and file a complaint with the police department. Also, consult with an attorney that does 1983 civil suits to see if you have a case against the police department.

Is it legal for an officer to charge someone if he doesn’t comply with his neighbor’s demand?

Answered by attorney Lawrence Thomas Lewis (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Lawrence Lewis, P.C.
Do not replace the door, wait to see what the charges are, then retain an attorney to fight the case, where you will see what the evidence is that you damaged the door. Will your attorney's fees be cheaper than the door, or is it about principle? You better have the right attorney, because losing means losing a lot of money: (1) bond; (2) time from work; (3) attorney's fees; (4) fines and court costs; and (5) the cost of the door.
