My son was bullied at school, he fought back after many months, now being charged with battery. what kind of lawyer do i need?

Answered by attorney Diane Buerger
Criminal Law lawyer at The Buerger Law Firm, P.A.
You should contact a criminal defense lawyer (preferably one who does a significant number of juvenile cases) immediately!  In the meantime, until you and your son consult with an attorney, he should exercise his "right to remain silent."  Guilt or innocence does not affect one's "right to remain silent."  So, regardless of guilt or innocence, failing to assert one's right to remain silent until after consultation with an attorney is rarely, if ever, desirable.  There undoubtedly will be potential repercussions pertaining to his school status.  The criminal defense attorney (assuming he also does juvenile cases) should be able to guide you through that also.

Do I need lawyer if I am questioned about a missing person?

Answered by attorney Eric E Rothstein (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Rothstein Law PLLC
Get a lawyer. You are the prime suspect if you were the last person to see the person. You don't give any facts but you should consult with a lawyer before you see the police. They will use whatever you say against you and you don't know what evidence they have. Also, don't give a DNA sample without talking to a lawyer.

What happens if you get arrested and don't get your fingerprints or mugshot taken?

Answered by attorney Francis John Cowhig (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Francis John Cowhig
Failure to have your fingerprints or mug shot taken will not affect the validity of your arrest. If you received a citation with a court date indicated on it, you must keep the court date. The court can always order you to present yourself to the local law enforcement agency to be fingerprinted and processed. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced criminal law attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your arrest. He/she would then be in a better position to analyze you case and advise you of your options.
