Your son decided to stay while someone broke in. Your son gets prosecuted as a principal - meaning he has the same crime as the person who actually went in. So, your son need assistance to get him out of this mess. You are not assisting your son by believing his story.

If someone is in prison and has another charge from another county, will they come pick him up so it can possibly run concurrent?

The inmate should notify the corrections (prison) staff so that the corrections staff can place the prosecutor in the second county on notice of the inmate's status. A letter to the prosecutor in the second county wouldn't be a bad idea either. Keep a copy of that letter.
