What can my friend do if he was accused of rape if he thought the girl was of age?

Answered by attorney Michael J Palumbo (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Palumbo & Associates, PC
Statutory rape is a strict liability crime it is always incumbent upon the persons to know the age of the other person. There is no excuse "I did not know, I was lied to..." That said, the man committed a crime against the 19 year old. This situation is way too complex to be answered in this forum, especially because a 14 year old is likely too young to marry anyhow.

What will happen for failure to pay fine warrants?

Answered by attorney Andrew Scott Gable (Unclaimed Profile)
Criminal Law lawyer at Law Office of Andrew Gable
Hire a lawyer to get the case in front of the judge and pay the fines. You want to clear this up on your own rather than being arrested on a warrant and brought by the police to the judge. Most lawyers handle these for a reasonable fee.
