How long can you be kept in county jail if you violate probation?

Thomas J Tomko

There are time limits for getting to a trial. Speedy trial laws can apply, and they vary for misdemeanors and felonies. Your attorney should file a motion if there is a delay which lets you languish in jail without a Court date. I hope that this was helpful.

Can you get a job with a felony?

Cynthia Russell Henley

There are many people with felony records who work. It just depends on the area in which you live / work and the nature of the work you seek. If you pled guilty, why are you going to court? That doesn't make sense. Once you are arrested, the offense is immediately on your record. ?What the record shows about the case depends on the status - arrested / pending; pled guilty - probation / prison; etc.

Can the police hold my car and press charges after they released me?

Answered by attorney Mark R. Thiessen
Criminal Law lawyer at Thiessen Law Firm
Google a forfeiture attorney in your area. They can try and seize it as proceeds of illegal activity if your friends was a dealer, but doesn't sound like it. This is usually for big drug cases or felony cases.
