What happens if I get a petty offense on my permit record?

The police often mean well with their opinions. But no one should rely on such. The public defender will get you a good deal. If you can't get a public defender find a low-cost (competent) private lawyer (resolving your case won't take much time).

Do i have the right to see video evidence against me?

Richard Francis Sweeney

Your attorney has a right to see video evidence prior to trial. However, you have to push the case to the trial stage or your attorney can made a demand for discovery. Sometimes the DA will only allow a defense attorney to go to the DA office and view the video rather than giving the attorney a copy of the video. Sometimes these things are literally handed over just before jury selection.

Sure. But police don't like a lot of wish washy people to deal with and they don't like people to USE THEM to solve their domestic problems.
