Mr. Lopez is a graduate of St. Mary's University and St. Mary's University School of Law.

He has been in practice in the area of Family Law for more than 10 years in South and Central Texas. During that time, Mr. Lopez has served on the Board of Directors of the Dispute Resolution Services Center and Corpus Christi Bar Association, as well as Vice President of the Corpus Christi Bar Association and President of the Family Law Section of the Corpus Christi Bar Association. Mr. Lopez has also been named a Corpus Christi 40 Under 40 and one of the top Family Lawyers in the Coastal Bend by the Bend Magazine, two years in a row.

Mr. Lopez is a husband and father enjoying travel, martial arts, hiking and the outdoors.

I interviewed multiple lawyers before signing my contract with Steve Lopez as my divorce attorney . I knew with my type a personality, I needed someone extremely organized , professional and reliable in regards to communication . When I came to the office for the first time , Steve gave me his undivided attention and was able to predict my case almost to a t. I appreciated his experience and guidance during every step of the way . When you decide on a lawyer to defend you and the lives of your kids , you want the best . I also want to say here that I am truly thankful for Steve Lopez’s staff as well . The knew my name, the names of kids , etc and always were professional in all our interactions . Thank you Steve Lopez and staff for being my support team , my cheerleaders , and my village during one of hardest seasons of my life .

The Law Offices of Steve Lopez, PLLC. Was recommended to me from a client he had and was happy with his services. The reason why I was in the market for an attorney is because I had a family case that was never finished, and my attorney I had representing me just left me in the dark. Even though my case was not going to make him a lot of money because some of the leg work was done. Steve's responsiveness, and his determination to finish my case up was unbelievable, he stayed on top of my case as well as his paralegals. Any questions I had were answered and explained in a timely manner, and he wrapped my case up fairly quickly. I highly recommend this law firm not only because they wrapped things up, but because of their organization, key to detail, and knowledge was beyond my expectations.

Mr. Lopez and his staff are remarkable. Mr. Lopez is very knowledgeable, honest, and well prepared. He listened to me, gave me honest advise/expectations, and communicated with me every step of the way. His staff provided impeccable service and kindly addressed all of my questions and concerns. I wasn’t just treated as a client, I was treated as a friend/family amongst himself and staff. I can not begin to express my appreciation enough for this law office.

I do not recommend Steve Lopez, in fact, I wish I would have done more research before hiring him altogether. Steve and his office are extremely disorganized, difficult to get a hold of, unprofessional, and a waste of time. Anyone using a lawyer knows time is money. Steve and his office have behaved so unprofessionally and unethically, that I will be moving forward with a formal Texas Board complaint on his behavior. Steve took on my case in April of 2023 and I have yet to go to court. Against my wishes and better judgment, Steve has continued to allow extension on my case on multiple occasions. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. He has showed no genuine interest in getting myself or my case into court in a timely manner - all the while continuing to send billings. There is much miscommunication with himself and his staff. Calls and voicemails will go unanswered, but you will be charged. Nothing is filed in timely or correctly communicated.
