Mrs. Yanes concentrates her practice in the area of workers’ compensation defense where her clients include insurance carriers, employers, uninsured employers and self-insured funds. She has litigated in jurisdictions throughout the State of Florida for multiple insurance carriers and employers.
While attending law school, Mrs. Yanes argued and prepared two appellate cases before the Third District Court of Appeal; one ultimately reaching the United States Supreme Court in the matter of Florida v. Jardines, 133 S. Ct., 1409 (2013). She was a member of the Moot Court Team, winner of moot court competition and competed nationally. As an attorney, she continues to assist the moot court team by serving as an Alumni Coach for the E. Earle Zehmer National Moot Court Competition at the annual Workers' Compensation Convention.
Mrs. Yanes was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2008 and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association as well as the Young Lawyers Division. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 2004, cum laude, and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2008, cum laude.
