James D. Floyd is a passionate advocate for individuals and families who have been injured through no fault of their own. A lifelong South Carolinian, James was born and raised in Florence and takes pride in serving the communities across his home state. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is licensed to practice in all South Carolina state courts as well as the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
James began his legal career at a law firm with offices in Georgetown and Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, representing clients in a variety of legal matters, including personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. He eventually returned to his wife’s hometown of Columbia, South Carolina where he worked for a well-respected defense firm primarily handling insurance defense matters. There, he gained valuable experience defending personal injury claims,.
In 2023, James made the decision to return to what he finds most fulfilling — standing up for the injured. Drawing on his background in defense, he now uses his experience, compassion and commitment to build strong, strategic cases for the people he represents.
Outside of the office, James enjoys spending quality time with his wife, daughter, and son at the beach or on the boat with their Boykin Spaniel.
