Terence E. Doherty brings a hands-on business background to his legal practice, allowing him to provide practical and effective legal advice to business owners and managers. His practice focuses on corporate and business law, real estate law, estate planning, litigation, and intellectual property. After founding the Doherty Law Firm, P.C. in 2006, Mr. Doherty has remained committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective legal services tailored to the needs of his clients. Mr. Doherty earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Connecticut in 1989, where he also served as captain of the UConn Lacrosse Team. He went on to graduate from Whittier Law School in 1997, earning recognition as a member of both the National Moot Court Honors Board and the Law Review.
Before establishing his private practice, Mr. Doherty held legal and leadership positions, including General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Symetrix Corporation. In addition to his legal career, Mr. Doherty has been recognized for his contributions to the community, earning the “Volunteer of the Year” award from the University of Colorado Small Business Development Center in 2010 and being voted a “Top Business Lawyer” from 2015 to 2024.
