Hired Law Firm
When shopping for attorneys I tend to read their reviews carefully and begin with the worst ones. I have read some scary stuff from too many clients. Everyone will receive good and bad reviews; however, they must be detailed and speak to the character of the person and not subjectively about their biased experience. This being said, This law firm received the highest rating from me for returning my call after hours, following through, being honest, informing me of the steps and expectations, and expeditiously closed this case with no points and less money than the original ticket.
I called the firm for a free consultation and had the great fortune of speaking with Ms. Bernstein regarding my matter. To be upfront: my otherwise flawless driving record enabled me to both, ask for and receive, a fair plea agreement that essentially spared me the need for any further legal representation. However, while other attorneys floated the idea of hiring their firm to pursue the prospect of fully dismissing the ticket at tenfold the price and no guarantees--Lindsay's candor, remarkably well-explained breakdown of relevant affairs, and impressive command of the law and legal process gave me a much clearer picture of where I stand. Her trustworthy assessment makes her the kind of attorney that I would hire in a heartbeat should the need arise, and her probity makes her the kind of ethical role model that I wish to emulate after graduating from law school and practicing myself.
I received a careless driving ticket. I called bernstein to ask for advice. I was told that I absolutely needed a lawyer to get the points dropped. I hired them. I was told on 3 different occasions that my points would be dropped. In court, I pleaded guilty to careless driving and gave up my chance to fight at trail. After court I was confused so I called Bernstein and asked if my points were dropped or not and the lawyer told me they were dropped and that everything went as planned. A few days later they called me back and told me they had no idea what happened….Maybe the court made a mistake. They let me know that I will be receiving the points. Cohen and Bernstein was supposed to get back to me with an explanation. Someone screwed up and at the very least, an explanation would have been appreciated! I paid them for nothing. And I haven’t heard from them so they are clearly not concerned. please think hard before you waste your money!!!
Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review Ratings™ display reviews submitted by individuals who have either hired or consulted the lawyers or law firms.
The Client Review Rating score is determined through the aggregation of validated responses. People who submit reviews are either individuals who consulted with the lawyer/law firm or who hired the lawyer/law firm and want to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Reviewers can be anyone who consults or hires a lawyer including in-house counsel, corporate executives, small business owners, and private individuals.
Martindale-Hubbell validates that a reviewer is a person with a valid email address. As part of the review process, respondents must affirm that they have had an initial consultation, are currently a client or have been a client of the lawyer or law firm identified, although Martindale-Hubbell cannot confirm the lawyer/client relationship as it is often confidential. The content of the responses is entirely from reviewers.
Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome and Martindale-Hubbell accepts no responsibility for the content or accuracy of any review. For more information on Martindale-Hubbell Client Review Ratings, please visit our Client Review Page
Martindale Peer Reviews
Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ are the gold standard in attorney ratings, and have been for more than a century. These ratings indicate attorneys who are widely respected by their peers for their ethical standards and legal expertise in a specific area of practice.
The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.
