Jacob Kiel is an Associate Attorney with Stange Law Firm. From our office in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he can help individuals throughout Linn County, Iowa, and the surrounding areas.
Jacob attended Drake University School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctorate in May 2023. While in law school, his extracurriculars included serving as the Vice President for the St. Jude Club, the Treasurer for the Drake Outdoor Leadership Club, the Philanthropy Chair for Sigma Phi Epsilon, and as a volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Before pursuing his law degree, Jacob earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Business Management from Drake University in May 2019. Jacob is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Iowa.
Prior to joining the Cedar Rapids, Iowa divorce and family law attorneys at Stange Law Firm, Jacob most recently worked for a law firm in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, he researched and drafted memorandums on complex legal issues to assist with the creation of case strategies, drafted a Writ of Certiorari to the United States Supreme Court along with a variety of other motions, reviewed and analyzed evidence in detail in preparation for trial, and maintained regular communication with clients to discuss case progress and further develop case strategy. Jacob also worked in various legal roles throughout his time in law school, including working as a writer/researcher for The Honorable Romonda Belcher in Des Moines, IA, and as a Law Clerk for a law firm in Ankeny, Iowa, and Peoria, IL.
Outside of his legal work, Jacob enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and exploring new areas. Along with his wife, Jacob also enjoys spending time working to renovate their home.
