I was not represented by Ligas. Thankfully. I was the buyer on a real estate transaction in which he represented the seller. It cannot be understated how unprofessional and inept Mr. Ligas was during what should've been a very easy file. I doubt he, or anyone in his office, ever even read the contract. Closing was scheduled for 10/11. My real estate agent, attorney, and broker had everything perfectly aligned well ahead of time. Contract stated radon, water, septic, pest, and survey to be done 10 days before closing. The seller's team didn't even begin scheduling until 2 days prior to closing. Mr. Ligas overlooked very basic needs for his client, including ordering the Cook county transfer stamps and making sure they had their mortgage payoff letter. This is all basic stuff for a seller's file. My attorney and realtor attempted to reach Mr. Ligas's almost daily for a week leading up to closing and every day after he missed closing date.
