Since graduating law school in 2007, I have primarily focused on civil litigation, compliance, public health, real estate and immigration.Dedicated to civic duty I have served as Counsel and Public Relations Officer for Experience Corps Philadelphia, an organization that involves retired volunteers in public school classrooms to serve as volunteers and mentors. I later served as the Division Chief of Animal Control for the City of Philadelphia where I worked to break up animal fighting operations and enforce critical public health statutes. Overseeing a staff of 28 union personnel, I collaborated with the Office of the District Attorney, city agencies, area hospitals, and the CDC. When working with Presentation Point Philadelphia, I assisted in lifting legal impediments that prevented people with addiction from accessing treatment.Prior to and during law school, I was a bioethicist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where my work focused on intellectual property, regulatory oversight of human subjects research, conflicts of interest and improving public understanding science and technology. I sat on the Institutional Review Board of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, authored a primer on gene patents used by hundreds of disease advocacy groups across the country. I have also been invited by dozens of professional and community groups to speak on subjects including the ethics and politics of stem cell research, the rights and protections of clinical research subjects and the impact of intellectual property law on scientific discovery. In 2011, I became a professional mediator and began serving on the New Jersey Law Division roster of court-appointed mediators for high-value cases. Since 2015, both my court-appointed and private client caseload has focused on multi-party construction litigation. These connections lead to the development of a growing real estate practice through which I regularly counsel residential and commercial landlords and represents parties in real estate transactions. Since 2015 I have also worked in immigration law and anticipate this becoming a growing portion of my practice.
