Kelly's professional journey includes past positions at Larry Rowe Attorneys at Law as a Partner from 2006 to 2007, and earlier as a Partner at Venezia & Elswick Law Offices from 1996 to 2007.

Kelly's dedication to her clients and her community is further reflected in her pro bono activities, having received the 100 Hour Award from the West Virginia State Bar Pro Bono Project in 1998.
