About Jenna A. Shankman

Jenna’s practice focuses on family law, trusts and estates, and probate litigation. In family law, Jenna represents clients in divorces, child support matters, child custody disputes, and post-judgment matters. Jenna is certified as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) and Attorney for the Minor Child (AMC) for the State of Connecticut. In estate planning, Jenna represents clients in developing estate plans that protect themselves and help to conserve, distribute, and safeguard hard-earned assets through the execution of wills, trusts, and other documents. Jenna also routinely appears in probate court throughout Connecticut and handles will contests, contested and uncontested conservatorships, guardianship proceedings, and contested and uncontested estate administration matters.

In both family law and trusts and estates, Jenna strives to understand each person’s unique circumstances. Because no two people are the same, Jenna is committed to finding a creative solution that best fits the client’s situation. Jenna is passionate about helping people in all stages of life and making sure that each person feels supported. To help achieve this goal, she focuses on client communication, which she feels is imperative to successfully representing each client. Jenna finds that the most rewarding part of her practice is building connections with people and giving back to the community.

During law school, Jenna spent time in the Civil Justice Clinic representing immigrants to obtain citizenship. She also worked to help pass House Bill 6657, a law that can fundamentally change the lives of human trafficking victims in the State of Connecticut.
