Colton Givens joined Kerrick Bachert, PSC, in 2018. His practice focuses on civil litigation, encompassing insurance defense, business litigation, employment law, higher education law, and personal injury cases. Colton frequently appears in Kentucky's trial and appellate courts, handling both state and federal matters.
Colton previously worked as a law clerk for Judge Thomas B. Russell in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky and Judge Eugene E. Siler Jr. in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit before joining Kerrick Bachert, PSC.
Colton graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2016. He was a member of the Kentucky Law Journal editorial board and the school's National Trial Competition team. His student note was published in Volume 104 of the Kentucky Law Journal and received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Note. Colton earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Murray State University in 2013. During his time there, he participated in the mock trial team, marching band, and basketball pep band.
Colton has strong ties to South Central Kentucky. He was raised in Butler County and currently lives there.
