Ms. Starkey is a trial lawyer whose practice is concentrated in the areas of criminal and regulatory law, commercial litigation, and employment litigation. She has a wide range of experience handling complex matters before the district and state superior trial courts throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Conn Kavanaugh, Ms. Starkey was Chief of the Economic Crimes Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, where she concentrated her work in the areas of white-collar crime and public corruption, often involving complex financial crimes. She frequently coordinated her efforts with related state and federal agencies, such as the Board of Bar Overseers, the United States Attorney's Office, the Securities Exchange Commission, and the State Department of Revenue.
Ms. Starkey was selected as one of the "Massachusetts Super Lawyers" and as one of the top lawyers in New England for white collar defense by Law and Politics and the publishers of Boston Magazine for the years of 2004 through 2010 and 2014. She was also designated as one of the top 50 Women Lawyers in Massachusetts and New England in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, 2015 and 2016. In addition, Ms. Starkey has received an AV Peer Review Rating in The Martindale-Hubbell Lawyers Directory. The Directory is recognized as the country's definitive source of information about lawyers and law firms. According to the Directory, "An AV rating is a significant accomplishment - a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence."
Additionally, in both 2015 and 2016 Ms. Starkey was list as a Best Lawyer in America by US News and World Report.
