Michael W. Simon is a shareholder in The Simon Law Firm practicing in the areas of real estate and business litigation and transactions. Mr. Simon has years of experience in handling commercial and residential real estate matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, land acquisition and title resolutions. Experience in development includes multi-use properties, land covenants, hazardous materials, construction, major loan financing and commercial operations such as hospitality, leasing, premises liability, security, community association governance, and licensing. Mr. Simon's litigation and dispute resolution practice includes appearances in all divisions of state courts, federal court, bankruptcy court, state administrative hearings, state condominium hearings, appellate courts and arbitration. He has been lead attorney in nearly all aspects of civil litigation such as contract disputes, lien and title questions, intellectual property, creditor's rights, construction claims, and prosecution and defense of tort liability. A large element of his practice is devoted to the specialized and confidential representation of professional athletes and sports and entertainment personalities. His frequent lectures, articles and court appearances involving real estate issues have earned him the respect of attorneys and the judiciary in the area of property law. Mr. Simon's past leadership on a Florida Bar Grievance committee that investigates lawyer's alleged misconduct emphasizes that his practice is maintained at the highest ethical standards. Mr. Simon is admitted to the Florida and Ohio Bars, and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida. He obtained his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University. Mr. Simon recently served in 2008, as Chairman of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee for the 15th Judicial Circuit. Mr Simon is an agent of Attorneys Title Insurance Fund, Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, Lawyers Title and Commonwealth Title. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, and its Real Estate CLE committee; the South Palm Beach County Bar Association; The Florida Bar Real Property Probate and Trust Law and Entertainment, Art and Sports Law Sections. He was awarded the 2008 Palm Beach County Legal Aid Community Service Award for his pro-bono services. He is AV rated in Martindale Hubbell. He served as an Adjunct Professor in Real Estate Law, Barry University, 1999. He is a frequent Author/Lecturer on the topics of lending, real estate, ethics and litigation.
