From the time I was 12 years old, I decided I wanted to be a lawyer. The motivating factor for me was a desire to help people. Some may choose medicine, social work, the ministry, but for me, it was the law. During my many years of practice, I have worked in various areas of the law. I have spent many years as a Family Law Specialist, handling complex divorce, property and custody cases.
About 18 years ago, my beloved Mother was undergoing rehabilitation at a nursing home. Mom told me, “Marian, people need your help.” I listened and took notice. What I observed opened my eyes to negligence and abuse of our senior citizens. Their rights were violated in so many ways. I vowed to fight to change attitudes and to take proactive steps toward improving the “system”. Several years ago, our firm had multiple cases against a Nursing Home located in Texas City, which motivated the State to close down the facility – a small but significant victory. Our firm will continue to fight for our loved ones and for yours. They took care of us – now it is our turn to take care of them.
