About Scott M. Hutchinson

Attorney Scott M. Hutchinson has counseled thousands of people regarding their Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy options.

He has practiced law since 1997. Besides his own law practice, he gained in-depth experience working extensively at two of the largest law firms on the west coast regarding both the debtor and creditor sides of bankruptcy law.

Mr. Hutchinson is licensed to practice law in Oregon, Washington, and the Federal District Courts for the District of Oregon, Western District of Washington, Eastern District of Washington, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

"Early on when I first became a lawyer I struggled financially to get my law practice off the ground. I incurred a large amount of credit card debt and lines of credit through my first few years of practice. I ended up juggling my debts by transferring debts to other lenders seeking low promotional rates. At the same time, I faced paying back a large amount of student loans. I have dealt with paying my own car and house payments. I have successfully gotten my financial house in order and that experience helps me understand many of the financial struggles my clients go through in their personal lives. I know how bankruptcy is a powerful legal tool of positive change in peoples lives. Bankruptcy gives people an opportunity for a fresh financial start. My law firm is dedicated to helping people obtain a debt free life and a brighter future."

Mr. Hutchinson is a member of the Oregon State Bar and the Washington State Bar Association. He is a proud member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA). He has received numerous Pro Bono awards.

Mr. Hutchinson earned his law degree in 1997 from the University of Oregon School of Law. During law school, he earned academic recognition by being selected to be on both the prestigious Oregon Law Review and the International Moot Court Team. Mr. Hutchinson earned his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication in 1993 from the University of Washington where he graduated with distinction, cum laude.

Mr. Hutchinson is a third generation native Oregonian, originally from Eugene. He enjoys spending his time with his family, reading, running, hiking, and traveling.

Scott Hutchinson has been a Bankruptcy attorney for many years so he knows Bankruptcy Laws inside and outside. He responds quickly and answers questions thoroughly. Scott Hutchinson is affordable, pays amazing attention to detail, and offers payment plans once the initial fee and filing fee are paid. He is extremely patient and offers information in a way that a lay person can understand.
