Hired Attorney Sheldon Starke

I had originally sought out legal counsel with this attorney due to PTSD resulting from multiple childhood traumas. Due to my inability to obtain a diagnosis until 20 years after the fact, the statute of limitations had passed. During our initial conversation, my depression had arisen and while we were speaking, I revealed to him how I was ashamed of my Masters Degree because it came from Kaplan University and I had failed to obtain employment after I had graduated in 2015. Mr. Starke had become more of a mentor because he reminded me that I was intelligent enough to earn that degree and I had worked hard. He reminded me to never belittle myself. As a result, I had begun to see value in my degree and within myself. For years, I kept my degree hidden away in a box covered up. I didn't even want to look upon it. After speaking with him, my confidence in myself as well as the love of the subject matter were restored. As a result of this new found strength, I crushed my interview.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
