Mark L. Barbre, who earned an MBA contemporaneously with his law degree, is a partner at Long Law Firm and assists Long Law Firm’s business clients with litigation, entity formation, collections, and professional liability matters. He also handles insurance defense and matters relating to state agencies’ procurement of vendor services. He represents both established companies and start-ups, the owners of businesses, and government agencies.
Mark once worked as a high school teacher, but he switched to a career in law to find fresh challenges and to have the opportunity to come up with creative solutions to problems. Barbre received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (2005) and his Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law (2006) from Louisiana State University. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2006. Mark clerked at Long Law Firm during his legal education, spent two years working at an insurance defense firm in Lafayette, and then rejoined Long Law Firm as an attorney in 2008. He is currently the head of Long Law Firm’s law clerk program and serves as a mentor to aspiring attorneys.
Mark is a board member of the Federal Bar Association–Baton Rouge, a member of Louisiana Bar Foundation Capital Area Partnership Panel, and a volunteer in various leadership roles at St. Michael High School, his alma mater and his employer when he was a teacher.
