Bankruptcy lawyer at Ronald K. Nims
If $4,500 was the reasonable value of the car? If it was then there is no problem. If the car was worth more, then your friend may have to give the difference to the trustee.

How do I save my house from auction

Answered by attorney Thomas Weiss
Bankruptcy lawyer at Vishnick McGovern Milizio LLP
You would have to either file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy or an emergency Order to Show Cause which requests a stay.  You would need to provide the court with a reason why you would be successful in the underlying foreclosure action.
