Can a Chapter 7 BK petition be filed prior to obtaining credit counseling?

No. The counseling must be completed first. There is an exception if there was no way for you to obtain the counseling before filing but this is RARELY granted since these courses can be done in person, on the phone, or online.

Can I file for bankruptcy again?

Answered by attorney Sheryl Susan Graf (Unclaimed Profile)

You can only file for a Chapter 7 (complete discharge) once every 8 years. If your prior bankruptcy was a Chapter 7, and it has not been 8 years, you may be able to file under a different section (for example, a Chapter 13 reorganization/repayment plan).

How much is a credit card and utility bankruptcy cost?

A better question is if, under your circumstances, filing bankruptcy is warranted. It is a big decision and has effect long into the future. I would seek counsel and advice prior to making a decision.
