What does case set on status call mean?

The court is just trying to find out if you paid the settlement amount in full so that the case can be dismissed as per the settlement agreement. It is just a way for the court to keep an eye on the case and dismiss it if it no longer needs to remain open for you to complete your payments under the settlement.

If I am married and debt is all under my name can I go bankrupt myself only?

Answered by attorney Mark J Markus
Bankruptcy lawyer at Law Office of Mark J. Markus
You can file bankruptcy by yourself regardless of whose name the debts are under. But your spouse's income, expenses, assets and debts must be included in the filing (and analysis for eligibility). Make sure you hire an experienced bankruptcy attorney in your state to advise and represent you.

How long is the recover period from a bankruptcy?

Jeffrey David Solomon
Answered by attorney Jeffrey David Solomon (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Law Office of Jeffrey Solomon
You would not be discharging the student loans. The recover period in terms of building credit depends on what you are trying to do and on your circumstances. But if you need to file bankruptcy and cannot pay your debt, you should get better credit quicker with a bankruptcy. You can continue to make payments and keep your car, though if you have too much equity the bankruptcy trustee would have a claim on your car.
