Can you remove judgement off your record and credit record?

Answered by attorney Charles Reiger Gallagher
Bankruptcy lawyer at Gallagher & Associates Law Firm, P.A.
If the judgment was legitimate, the only way you can remove it is to pay the underlying judgment amount to satisfy the judgment. If the judgment was the product of mistake, fraud or some other omission, it is possible to remove them from your record/credit report.

Does it matter if I file bankruptcy before or after marriage?

Answered by attorney Dorothy G. Bunce (Unclaimed Profile)

Oh yes, it can matter a lot, but probably not in the way you anticipate. Once you are married, your spouse's income must be included in the bankruptcy filing and as a result you may become ineligible to file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Consult a bankruptcy attorney before getting married to see how the details of your marriage might be impacted should you wait to file bankruptcy until after marriage.

Which chapter do we file to cover credit cards and health bills only?

Answered by attorney Dorothy G. Bunce (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at A Fresh Start
There is no chapter in bankruptcy that will let you pick and chose which debts to include and allow you to leave some off. Although you are welcome to continue to pay for your house and your car after filing bankruptcy, these debts must be included. The decision of which chapter to file is based on how much money you have left after paying your necessary living expenses and what you want to accomplish in bankruptcy.
