How can I get the title of a car I bought after filing for bankruptcy?

That is a toughie- have to beg the secured creditor now to give you a release of lien on the car title. If they refuse, drop the vehicle off at the creditor's parking lot with the keys. Probably too expensive to file a Motion to reopen your very old bankruptcy case and try to have the bankruptcy judge order for you to have a free title.

You and your ex can both file for bankruptcy, but you would have to do it as individual filers, not as joint or married filers. The good news is that an attorney can prepare petitions for both you and your ex-wife at the same time & save both of you money.

What actions can be taken against a co-signer on a car in Texas?

?1301 of the bankruptcy code generally prevents a creditor from going after a co-debtor/co-signer while the Chapter 13 is progressing. The lender can file a motion to lift the automatic stay and if granted then pursue their normal collection efforts. However, if the vehicle is being paid for through the plan then the odds are not very likely that the judge will grant the relief.
