If we want to do a REFI on our home will we have to add the balance of the 2nd on there or is it considered forgiven?

The 2nd will have to be taken care of some way. No bank will refiance the loan until the 2nd is included because the lien still exists and would become the priority lien in a refinance situation.

How much do you have to have to file chapter 7?

Michael C Hyde
Answered by attorney Michael C Hyde (Unclaimed Profile)
Bankruptcy lawyer at Office of Michael Hyde PLLC
The filing fees for a chapter 7 bankruptcy are $306.00. Bankruptcy attorneys fees can range from $500 to $1500 or more. An average amount charged by Michigan attorneys is $1500. That is a good indicator as to how many years they have practiced in bankruptcy and the level of their ability to represent your interests. If your question is more to the issue of how much debt should you have before you file, then a quick answer is more than you can afford to pay on your current income.
