John Mark Coulson is a lawyer practicing products liability, fire & electrical injury litigation, medical malpractice, medical products & health care and 2 other areas of law. John Mark received a B.A. degree from La Salle University in 1985, and has been licensed for 35 years. John Mark practices at Miles & Stockbridge P.C. in Baltimore, MD.
Mark manages nationally the defense of cases involving a variety of household products. He also frequently counsels manufacturers and other business clients on document and data retention issues as well as e-discovery issues. He is a frequent author and lecturer on these subjects, and was a member of a joint bench-bar committee establishing a proposed protocol for e-discovery in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
Mark has authored and co-authored many successful Daubert challenges in products liability cases, including federal cases in Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan, two of which were wrongful death cases resulting in summary judgment (Booth v. Black & Decker, Inc., 166 F. Supp. 2d 215 [E.D. Pa. 2001]) and Knotts v. Black & Decker, Inc., 204 F. Supp. 2d 1029 [W.D. Ohio 2002]).
