Stephen Dillawn graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1979, and worked as a petroleum engineer until 1986. He received his law degree from the University of Houston in 1989, at which time he joined the law firm Small, Craig & Werkenthin where his practice included general litigation, administrative and bankruptcy work. He has also handled a variety of appellate cases at the courts of appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
He joined Germer in 2004, focusing on medical malpractice defense and administrative law. He is admitted to practice in Texas state courts and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Austin Bar Association.
