Harris Law Firm has treated me with utmost respect and has been extremely helpful in helping me get my Disability Retirement Benefits!! My case manager Ashley was amazing!! She made everything smooth and extremely simple!!
Mr Harris company is one of a few companies that deals with the federal government of which it is hard to find. The government knows there are few which makes it difficult to find credible firms of which this is one. They are very helpful from beginning and beyond the end and more than fulfill their contracts.
The firm sure takes their time to settle but it was worth the wait.
Although I was very glad we were able to get an approval prior to appeal, which saved me time, but it also saved Harris time and expense as this would have been covered by their flat fee. But when OPM did not honor that approval and is terms they could not have cared less, did not actually even so much as make a call, and sent boilerplate replies in response to my detailed info sent to them. Doesn't help if you can't actually receive what you won, and while they saved effort, I lost everything.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm. I guess they have 5 stars from turning down cases they think they cannot win, while stringing you along. I would give them 1 star based on wasting my time and their questionable business ethics. I interacted primarily with a representative named Caleb, who signed his emails as a “Senior Consultant.” Over several months, I received detailed guidance about my case strategy, and I was repeatedly told my case appeared strong and that I could proceed on my own without formally retaining the firm. I relied on those assurances. After I received a denial, I immediately asked to hire the firm for reconsideration. My request was declined and then I was ghosted when I needed help the most. The result was a stressful experience: extensive guidance up front, being told my case was strong, followed by no representation when I needed it. I question the ethics of this practice.
I started the process and wasn’t told until close to the end that I only had a certain amount of time to finish the process or I had to start all over again. I would be told “All we need is this from you and then we can submit your application.” I’d do whatever I was told to do or get and then I’d be told that something else was needed from me and this happened multiple times…they got $5,000 from me and I got nothing out of it. They stole my money. I saw a review on Google written by a man who went through the same thing I did with them and he at least got half of his money back. I signed my contract under duress. I was married to a very abusive man who forced me into it because he is controlling and wanted me home all of the time. I had to use all of my savings to pay you guys. He did that on purpose also. He insisted I pay in full instead of make payments because he knew it would cause me to be financially dependent on him in an emergency. He won and HF helped him
