Hired Attorney

Attorney William Thompson had no client agreement nor statement of representation. He doesn’t answer the phone and doesn’t respond to emails. Voice mail system doesn’t take messages. Refers everything to his secretary who can’t give legal advice and offers numerous excuses for lack of responsiveness including “you have to understand we are moving”, “I put the paperwork on his desk and he handles it in batches” and “he’s only now getting into the office and it’s Friday so don’t expect a response till Wednesday”.

Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.
