About Mr. Phillip Hairston

Phillip Hairston was born and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology, where he received an undergraduate degree in Chemistry. He then attended Washington University School of Law. During law school, he worked as a judicial intern to the Honorable Barry Schermer of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He also worked as a legal intern for a Fortune 500 biotechnology company and worked primarily on intellectual property matters.

After graduating from Washington University School of Law, Phillip returned to Atlanta and joined a well-known defense firm. He primarily represented large businesses and general contractors in complex litigation cases. Phillip’s successes include securing a reversal before the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia and multiple successful verdicts at trial. After representing defendants for five years, Phillip pivoted his practice to represent victims of negligence. His practice includes, but is not limited to, claims involving wrongful death, trucking collisions, and negligent security.

Phillip uses his insider knowledge of defense strategy to secure favorable settlements for his clients. He strives to resolve cases efficiently for his clients and is willing to explore multiple options to obtain favorable outcomes, such as trial, mediation, and pre-litigation negotiations. Phillip has obtained multiple $1,000,000.00+ settlements for his clients in commercial trucking cases.

Phillip is physically active and enjoys weightlifting and running. He frequently participates in obstacle course races around the country. He is a PADI certified scuba diver and an avid fan of the Atlanta Hawks and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets basketball teams. He is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
